Ah Ganun Pala Yun!

You know, gowns and everything....

"Whats your name brother? Do you have an ID?"

"yes, its in pocket" sagot nun biktima na mukhang palestinian

Ang galing galing nun leader...habang tinatransfer nila un patient sa bed namin, nag eendorse siya with his super slang canadian accent ha, di ko nga maintindihan e! as in ang galing! saulado niya lahat ng ginawa at ibinigay nila with matching time ha!

"ate ano bang lahi to?"

"di ko din alam, unknown pa din siya till now, la makita ID"

"ah ganun ba, mukhang indian e..."

"hindi, parang somalian..."

"baka iranian..." sabat nun isa pa

Narinig ni Julius ang huntahan namin. Lumapit siya at sinabi:

"isa lang ang paraan para malaman natin ang nationality nito..."

"paano?" sabay sabay namin tanung.

"ah, tuli siya...(isa pa ulit niyang tingin) ah, malamang egyptian..." pag kumpirma ni Julius:The Great!

Christmas eve went well last night, as you all know I was on duty, and I'm here at Doha, we are in a hurry to start working so that we could finish early before 12am and eat together at the department, but there are many enemies...the nurses!LOL asking so much of us, pls do this, pls help me with this, pls check patient is desaturating, there's new doctor's order blah blah blah and before I know it, ITS ALREADY 1:00 am!fuckkkkkkkkkk!

But anywayz, we still manage to have a great time, yummy foods, some music and some good talks and laughs. I'm glad I'm on duty instead of being off and just stayed home all by myself (teka, kanta yun a LOL).

My sister is killing me when she told me they're having crispy pata, cakes, buko salad, carbonara etc. I miss pork!!!!!!!! (does dick counts as pork?LOL)

Anyway, I need to go to sleep now, still night shift later.Yeah I know, I'm just going to sleep this Christmas, hooo-hooo how exciting!!!

Like A Stone

In a few days, I'll be at Qatar, well that is, if I don't encounter any problem prior to my flight!LOL. So I'm thinking positive now.

In a few days, I'll be on a new environment, a place where I don't know anyone...culture and language so unknown to me..

In a few days, I'll be waking up on a totally different room and house....no annoying sister, no stubborn 5 year old nephew and no alcoholic father too LOL!

In a few days, I'll be on the hospital laboratory and halls once again. A familiar scent that I'm so used to...

In a few days, I'll be around death again...people are surviving and some are dying...a fact that I have accepted long time ago...

In a few days, I have to put up a strong face when someone dies and prevent myself from being affected...a front that took me a long time to master...

I remembered the first time someone died on my hand...My first week on my job (what is an RT?). I was resuscitating this old woman, a patient on one of our ward that was so loved by her children...she suffered a heart attack and I was called together with a team of nurses and did the code blue...but its her time...the doctor pronounced the time of death..

Suddenly this woman rushed unto me crying, grabbed my arm and begged "please don't stop..keep on resuscitating her...don't stop please...please" the other kids are hysterical...just like in the movies, only that this is real, you could feel their emotions, their anguish, their loss...

She went at her lifeless mother lying on the bed and she started compressing her chest just like what she saw me doing ,as if she could revive her dead mother. I stand still, there's nothing we or I could do...I excused my self and went at the bathroom, there, I let the tears that I was holding back while ago to flow freely...It really affected me....

My first death.I was so affected.

Time goes by, sometimes everyday, weekly, someone dies on our duty and I began to be emotionless, unaffected, playing tough, playing professional. Like a stone.

That's why whenever I see a patient survived death and came out of the ICU, where I spent most of my duty, it gives me so much happiness knowing I was part of his/her wellness.

There was this rich patient that survived her near death experience from a fatal car accident and gave our team 5oo pesos each after a month of being discharged. She's so thankful to us. She considered us her "heroes".

Hmm, I wonder why only 5oo?Kidding!!!!!!!!

What The Hell is an RT?

I'm sick and tired of telling people about my job,I am a respiratory therapist! but they don't know what it is !hahaha and they were like, what the hell is that?! Every time I'm chatting online or meeting some one on a date and they would ask about my job, they have no idea about it.Unless of course if you work on a hospital like me.

So i decided to give you guys an idea about the nature of my work,I searched some pictures so that you would have a much clearer understanding.I worked as an RT for 5 years at a tertiary hospital in the south. My course in college was B.S Respiratory Therapy. But i gotta admit, only few are getting this course we are not as popular as the PT's or the OT's and the Nurses, well maybe because this is not a glamorous job.

So here it is :
When a patient arrived at the ER and have a difficulty of breathing (nangingitim na kuko at mga kamay and lips) and all signs indicating that he needs an invasive help to breath (OR any patient confined at the hospital) we immediately do a procedure- intubation where-in the doctor will insert a tube into his mouth directly to his trachea(lalamunan) and lungs to breath. We are required to be there when they start to do this.We assist the doctor together with the duty nurse.I was the one responsible checking the air sounds if the doctor inserted the tube right. If I say "out" he will do it again until he's "in" hehe taray!

Code blue-this is the craziest time! If I'm on duty especially at night!(tanggal ang antok ko!haha). When they call our laboratory and say its a code blue humanda ka na!This is when a patient suddenly stops breathing or suffered a cardiac arrest.Everyone was like running here and there giving this and that medication and injections to make the heart beats again. What is my role?I am the one giving the CPR,the heart compressions(like you see on the pic, kapag napagod salitan kami ng doctor or headnurse) and sometimes using defibrillators. The staff included in a code blue are: the doctor,me(RT),head nurse, nurse, med tech,x-ray tech, midwife and an orderly. This usually takes 30minutes to 1 hour, and I gotta tell you its tiring you have to make that patient alive in 30minutes to an hour,if not, dedo na yun!

Once we revived the patient's heart,I have to rush to the ICU to prepare this machine:the mechanical Ventilator-responsible for breathing for the patient until he can completely breaths on his/her own.I have to set and manipulate this machine with the doctors orders on how many breaths it have to give and how much air does a patient needs including the alarm systems.

Then here it is,after checking if the machine is ready,I will hook the patient in its tubings and check again if there is an equal air going in and out of the lungs. If there are too much secretions(like plema or dugo)we need to suction it using a suction machine sometimes an entire bottle was filled with this secretions so kadiri talaga!Pero sanay na me!hehe.I can compare it to a Bavarian fillings hehe

Same procedure with the infants. Then we have to monitor these patients whether adult or babies every now and then and coordinate with the nurses. That's why the nurses are my best friends!hehe

we do check their tubings and conditions if they are comfortable and if they are ready to breath on their own,we asses and do some suggestions to the doctors.

This is a less invasive gadget,we call this the oxygen hood. That plastic container was sealed and oxygen are inside to help the baby breath.

This is the PFT machine, this procedure is sooo tiring for me and the patient! I takes 30minutes or more to be done!especially if the patient cant understand your instructions (they may be too old or too weak or deaf to follow! lagott)This machine measures your lung's capacity and functions. Most of our patients are those with complications due to smoking and those with asthma and patients who will undergo a surgery.

This is my favorite,I'm good in extracting blood from the artery. This is called arterial blood gas or ABG.This is really really painful! When we were just students,we are required to do this with our partners!Ang sakit nito waaa!According to my instructor we have to experience this so that we have an idea how painful it is so that we will be gentle to our future patients.

This is the most boring part of our job,the nebulization-this treatment is given to patients who have difficulty of breathing, the medicine inside release mist and absorbed by the lungs once you inhale it,dilating the airways and air sacs.I'm glad we have an assistant to do that job.In other hospital the nurses are the one doing this.

Whew!this is long haha. But those are only few important part of my work, there are more procedure and gadgets we use for the therapy/monitoring of the lungs,I'm afraid it will just bore you guys to death so I rather not talk about it anymore.I hope I gave you an idea of my exciting and tiring job.But I love this job.I hope I can work abroad na,wala pa ko visa!!tagal nman!hehe.

Destined To Be Alone?

"Mac,pls meet me this Saturday,I'll give you my wedding invitation.Miss yah!

I received this text earlier and I don't know who it came from,I called the number and found out its my good friend Mel! OMG I didn't know that she's home already.FYI,she's working at Saudi Arabia as a therapist,if you noticed most therapist are working in the middle east, well,I think we are so in demand in that part of the world, but I don't want to work at Saudi hehe I preferred country's that are more open and less strict that's why I choose Qatar or Dubai.

Going back to my story,Mel is one of my closest friends way back my college days. There's actually six of us in the group, and come to think of it,Kat got married 2years ago, then Jason and grace last year and now Mel...they are all finding their own happiness and settling down building their own family...this suddenly hit me.I kinda felt sad in a way, that I'm still single...I'm happy for them of course but, what about me?

I have relationships in the past, yes, but still I'm single. When is the time I'm going to settle down too? When will the time comes that I am the one whose going to text and call my friends ,not the wedding of course and say this:"hey,I'm settling down with this amazing guy that loves me so much,we found our own place and I'd like all of us to have dinner" or we could do our own wedding vows even if its not legal in this country, its just a piece of paper anyway, all that matters is what we have and what we feel with each other.I'd like that thought...

But are we,gay or bi or whatever we call ourselves now destined to be alone? That we cannot have what straight people have? That someone to build a future with for a long time? Are we prepared to grow old alone? This fears me...I guess this is the fears of all mothers or parents who loves their son's so much who came out to them...

This is the fear of my mother...

I love you MOM.I'll be alright.Who knows.I might find my forever

...and you'll gain another son

...and you will love him too.

Nice Friend At Nice Motel

This is the continuation of my post yesterday,I arrived at Megamall at 2:30 in the afternoon,Randall was waiting, and I saw him inside Giftgate and I smiled at him and said "Sorry for making you wait" he said its alright and we headed to our destination:Motel room.haha.You might ask who the hell is Randall, well he is a guy I've dated last year around June before Jaireh became my boyfriend.

Our date then was just fine, but I didn't think we can be together because there's some incompatibility issues I've seen.He sure like me to be his bf but I said being friends is best for us right now and he understood. To think that he came from Cebu city to see me then.He is an Occupational Therapist by the way.He moved to manila to work last September and we kept on communicating since our date.

He's constantly teasing me about how good he is at bed and how he wanted me to kiss him again (well, yes,Ive kissed him on our first date then, you know,I feel guilty that he came from Cebu, a far city and he got nothing from me! so I kissed him.hehe) he said it was one kiss he cant forget,I felt proud I already know that I'm a good kisser LOL.(Yabang!)

I'm not taking him seriously then because I've been to relationship here and there so I was busy with my pathetic love life, and he knew that, but we keep being friends and texting and chatting. But lately,I'm considering his offer,I'm not seeing someone now,and my last sex was with JL(my last bf last December) and its been a month now!

So i asked him "are you free tomorrow?can I fuck you?hehe"I added the word"hehe" to make it sound a bit less serious I'm kinda unsure if he will agree, and he said "OK,but you bring lots of condom, you wear rubber?" I said "yeah sure, but you're in charge of bringing lube" haha,"and he added "are you a good top Mac?can you do three rounds?" I got so excited I even had a hard on thinking about it!

So we agreed to see at the afternoon after I'm done at my appointment at DFA,that we will meet at megamall and we will check in this motel "nice hotel" that's the name of the motel hehe I kinda felt silly about the name,I mean I'm not sure if its clean and comfortable I only been to sogo motel many times and so far sogo was my choice of motel rooms.
Practice safe sex guys

It is located at cubao near the mrt station and Araneta Center.I bought a pack of condoms at a near 7-11 branch and I cant find them at the display,so I asked the cute guy at the cashier and I whispered "where are your condoms?" shettt hahaha "ah,its here sir you have to asked it here at the counter"he said.Damn them why didn't they put it in display instead and save us horny customer's face of buying them?LOL

We headed at the Nice Hotel, but too many by standers at the front entrance, that's the big disappointment for me,in fairness it is really nice, the lobby is decent enough but not like sogo motel that the waiting customer can sit with privacy with the division on every chair. They only have couch and bench in there. We paid 400 pesos plus for three hours only,we shared the bills of course. But 5 hours stay is only 495 pesos! We could choose that but I cant stay for 5 hours I have to go home to catch Obamas inauguration hehe.

Our room is quiet big and neat, the air con and the beddings are clean and so far it passed my standards. But the shower sucks they don't have hot and cold! But anyway I immediately took my shower since we only have 3 hours to fuck LOL!Time is Gold! after we're done we jumped into bed and kissed him hungrily like he wanted me to,that's what he's longing for in the first place next to my d%c*!hehehe

And OMG!His tongue never missed a single area in my body! That tongue and mouth is so powerful it never got tired haha. All i did was moan here and there and here again and there. All I can say is he's a pleasure giver.I'm so impressed by his performance haha I'll give him perfect ten!a round of applause everyone clap clap clap!he drained me!Every position of we can think of was performed on that bed I felt sorry for the beddings its was so soaking wet haha

I've never been with that kind of bottom guy before, and I will definitely invite him once again! After the wonderful moment I just hug and kissed his forehead and rest while he's still inside my arms.We only did two rounds haha yikes I'm such a weakling!

I found a list of motel addresses and numbers here

Job Offer At Qatar

This morning I went to Makati, you know for my meeting with my recruitment agency to work overseas, I'm going to the middle east as a therapist by the way..ooohh scary! haha. But actually its just my second choice

I came at their office at around 11am,the place is nice and the staff are friendly and they accommodate me very well, which is just right I'm a client you know.hehe.Ms.Marie was talking to this guy, so i have to wait, who is complaining about the fee the he have to pay for backing out of his employment,Ms.Marie said that it is every agencies rule to pay 200 USD, (hmm i took my cel and calculate the amount, geez! Its whooping 9 thou plus!) for every job withdrawal whose visa's processing is ongoing.

When its my turn I said good morning, and she asked about my name and she look for her folder and took out a paper from it and showed it to me.Its an "Offer Of Employment" it stated that I will be receiving that salary every month with a transpo allowance, a little short of my what I'm expecting but not too much, that the accommodation is free, that I will have an annual leave of 30days for the whole 3years contract.Hmmm, sounds like a nice offer I thought to myself. But the food is not free! I asked her some questions and she gladly answered them.

One of them was,why don't I need to do an interview and examination, if its alright and is it unusual? She said, yeah, usually we do required them to most applicant, but she added that, this is rather a great oppurtunity and I should consider my self lucky, because the employer is needing my service urgently and the management of _____ Medical Corporation screened 50 resume's and credentials submitted to them through my agency including mine and only 5 of us were chosen! That was a real shocker to me! I mean Wow! I'm really that great?!

But at the back of my mind...ows?you might told that to a couple of people already to make me feel good hehe .But I don't know, she might be telling the truth or not.No one knew. But that really made me feel great what if that's really my fate and I'm being so lucky? Why would I not accept it? I said to her, can I think it over? She said "what else to think? this is a rare opportunity?you should grab this already."

I called my mom and asked her about it,because my mom is in Dubai for less than 10 years now and she said OK you can sign it its not a bad offer anyway so I went inside the office and signed the offer of employment. But its not yet binding so its alright if I back out within this week haha. She gave me some papers and referrals for my medical next week and I should prepare some documents and if everything goes well I'll just have to wait for my contract and visa and ticket...ooh,I cant believe its happening, within 3months time I will be on that plane!!!if I submitted my passpot to them together with the result of my medical I cant back out anymore,it means my visa will be processed.
But hey, with all the money I'm getting I can buy a lot of stuff! haha. I mean,my mom has her own job at Dubai,my dad is just waiting for his plane ticket he already have his visa bound to Dubai too, my sister is married to a husband whose working at Saudi we have a small business, I thought I don't have to share my money with my family every one has their own already, right?Yahoo!!!!my money are all mine!Imagine all the guys I can buy!!LOL
